Q&A with Cara
Where are you from?
Where did you go to college? Did you do any further school?
I went to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX for undergrad. Go Frogs! I then continued at Northern Arizona University – Phoenix Biomedical Campus for Physical Therapy School.
What is your role at Landmark PT?
As a Physical Therapist, what is your favorite body part to treat? And Why?
That is a hard question to answer because I like treating the body as a whole to identify deficits in one part of the body that may be causing pain in another part. I also love treating balance impairments because I get to be creative with interventions!
As a Physical Therapist, what do you believe is one common misconception about Physical Therapists?
Many people believe that physical therapists only treat orthopedic injuries. We also treat Parkinson’s disease symptoms, gait impairments, balance problems, and dizziness.
What is something that you have gained from working at Landmark Physical Therapy that you would like other people to know about?
I’ve learned that care provided solely from physical therapists, without delegation to techs or other support staff, really optimizes patient experiences and outcomes. This makes Landmark Physical Therapy stand apart from other clinics.
What is your typical work day like?
I typically treat 10-13 patients a day spending 1-on-1 time with them either doing manual treatment, exercise or functional activities.
What are 3 words that best describe you?
Kind, understanding and dedicated.
What is one fact most people don’t know about you?
I won a volleyball state championship in high school.
What is your favorite food?
Chips and queso.
